On Friday, I organized a retirement party for the supervisor of the math department. I had been excited for it all week, hoping that she'd like the gifts I bought with everyone's money.With a little logistical help from her husband, she opened the doors to our private room in the restaurant and was totally surprised to see us all!!
I had flowers for her, a "Retired!" pin for her to wear, and a bag full of gifts. The best gift we gave her, in my opinion, was the framed picture of all of us math teachers. We snapped a picture of ourselves out by the tree next to my classroom, and I stuck it in a frame, where we wrote little messages to her on the matting. She seemed to really appreciate it!
I am really going to miss having her as my supervisor. Mrs. Jones was an excellent leader and mentor to learn from! She is going to be greatly missed!
