Little Meek has just crawled her way into my heart. She loves to sit by my side and keep me company with whatever I'm doing.
And she's so much more affectionate with me than her parents are. I think that is because she's spent her whole life in my presence and is rather used to my silly ways.
I think she smells delightful, and so my nose is always snuggling into her feathers, and my lips are always kissing her! And she tolerates me, which is quite kind of her! Sometimes she even squeezes her eyes closed when anticipating my affections. Oh, how I love her!
Above is a picture of her sitting at the table in my apartment a few days before I moved out.
In the photo below, she's sitting on my window sill as I do the dishes, peering out into the new backyard of my house!
Because I have hardwood floors on the first floor and carpet on the second, I take the doves into the basement for their daily flying exercise.
This week I discovered that Meek's sibling (Mild) is also a little girl! I had thought that perhaps we had one girl and one boy, but indeed I was wrong. The little dove that Shawn adopted is not a boy after all. And while the dove hasn't laid an egg yet (which would certainly confirm things for us), her father did coo and dance for her when Shawn brought her over to visit, and this is probably not the behavior he would do with another male.
So we have a pair of sisters! How delightful. Mom and Dad Dove were blessed with two adorable little girls!
