Intrigued, I went online to learn more about what my house number may mean. And here's what I found!
- In the Hebrew "Tables of the Law" (which contain a lot of numbers), we find that "Jesus" and the French words "Dieu Un" ("God One") correspond to 444.
- 444 is known as the "Resurrection Number."
- It is symbolic of the first divine woman (and presumably this refers to Our Lady).
- The word "queen" is used 44 times in the Old Testament and 4 times in the New Testament, giving us 444 by concatenation.
- 444 is the length in "mir" cubits of the "Temple of the Beauty" built in Egypt before the time of Christ. "Mir" means "peace."
- There is even a book out there called Angel Numbers 101: The Meaning of 111, 123, 444, and Other Number Sequences. A paraphrase of the book I found online says that the number 444 means, "The angels are surrounding you now, everywhere around you, reassuring you of their love and help! You are completely loved, supported, and guided by many Heavenly beings, and you have nothing to fear. Don’t worry because the angels’ help is nearby."
Here below is a link I found to a short video online. The pastor speaking explains that the Hebrew language always corresponds to numbers.
He explains that the number 3 refers to the Holy Trinity, and that, therefore, the number 4 refers to creation, which came immediately thereafter. There are four elements of creation (earth, wind, fire, and water) and 4 regions of the earth (north, south, east, and west).
To have three 4's altogether, he explains, emphasizes the entirety of creation (or the world itself), and he goes on further to say that it specifically refers to Damascus, the number for the oldest, continually-inhabited city in the world.

This is considered a "Resurrection appearance" of Our Lord. The Christian theological implication of the Conversion of Paul is that it witnesses the absolution of sin that is offered by faith and grace through belief in Jesus Christ. The magnitude of Paul's transgressions, such as his attempts to completely eradicate Christianity, indicate that any sinner may be forgiven, no matter how terrible his sins, so long as he wants forgiveness. From the Conversion of Paul, we get the metaphorical reference to the "Road to Damascus" that has come to refer to a sudden conversion of thought or a change of heart or mind.
Saul of Tarsus found peace of heart but went blind after seeing Our Lord, and the men with him gently lead him into the open gates of the good Christian city of Damascus, where God had told him to go and wait for further direction of His Holy Will. A kind man in the town let Saul and his men live with him. Little did Saul realize, he would be getting a very special visitor soon.
God was orchestrating something beautiful. He was speaking to a man named Ananias (who lived elsewhere in Damascus), telling him to go find Saul, even though all Christians were so terrified of this man. Ananias was terrified but obedient to God's will, and when he arrived and prayed over Saul, the metaphorical scales were removed from Saul's eyes and he was able to see again! A few moments later, Ananias baptized Saul as a Christian, and Saul took the name Paul. He then spent the rest of his life doing God's will--and doing so joyfully!
With hope, I believe that my placement at 444 indeed means that I am being watched over by my Heavenly friends, that God has lead me to this Damascus-like location on my journey to Him, and that I am to sit and wait (as St. Paul did in Damascus) for the visitor whose presence will remove the scales from my eyes and allow me to see God's will for my life!
Isn't it beautiful that only 2 days ago I happened to write in my blog that I wished God to remove the scales from my eyes, only when He is ready? Praise God for these little blessings of irony.
