My Sweet Little Treat

Oh, how I love Starbucks Vanilla Frappuccino!

I have loved it for YEARS.  It simply delights me.  If I'm having an amazingly good day, I will treat myself to one and feel...even more amazing!

This cool, smooth, refreshing drink is just perfect during all times of the year.  It's yummy coffee, and the vanilla gives it a gentle sweetness without the intensity that chocolate would bring.

But this savory little treat isn't just beneficial to my taste buds.  It's also highly beneficial to all of you.

As thoughts of my friends and family members enter my heart, I will refrain from drinking this beverage and offer up this little sacrifice with my prayer intentions for you.

On my own, I am a very weak individual, and God knows this.  So He gives me little things to do sometimes.

Sometimes He asks me to stop at weird, inconvenient moments to pray for you...

...like when I'm in the middle of chugging down this bottle.

Stopping is especially hard to do when you're more than half-way through the drink and only have a few more gulps to go.  To stop when you're nearly done, realizing that to hold back on a few sips serves no dietary benefit and no visible benefit to all of you, is just about...crazy.

But then, the story of Christianity is crazy, isn't it?  Christianity is, essentially, a crazy love story.  It is a wild, passionate love story between God and His beloved: us!  It is a story of how far God will go to demonstrate His love for us.  It just about makes no sense at all, and yet...His crazy love for me gives sense to my life.

So...I love Starbucks Frappuccino.  I love when I savor it.  And I love the drink even more when God calls me to postpone my enjoyment of it...because it gives me an opportunity to turn my prayer intentions into sacrifice.

And all sacrifices are pleasing to God, no matter how small. :)
