My students are awesome. They volunteered to use the usual 7 minutes I give them at the end of the period to work on homework to instead create handmade Valentines for my dear grandmother.
I have told them about my grandmother before, and they like hearing about her. When I told them that she broke her hip and that I've been visiting her in the rehabilitation hospital often after school, they immediately and enthusiastically wanted to make Valentines for her.
After placing all the students' Valentines into a big red paper heart, I drove to the hospital to make the delivery. She was soooo touched!
When you have this many people loving you on St. Valentine's Day, you can't help but recover more quickly! :)
