This weekend, we had the honor of hosting the Bishop of the Diocese of Harrisburg!
Bishop McFadden came to our parish to confirm the 8th graders yesterday, and Michael and I were asked to be his right-hand man and woman.
We remained by Bishop's side wherever he went. He was most kind and gracious to us, and we escorted him to the Confirmation Mass and then to the reception hall afterward.
We carried ice water with us for when he was thirsty. As necessary, we controlled the crowds that surrounded him, making sure that only one person spoke to him at a time. We became photographers that day, too, as the excited faithful would hand us their cameras, asking us to capture the moment. And, when Bishop had finally met every person in the room and was ready to go, we helped him make a discreet departure through the crowds.
What a fun time that was! He gave us a special blessing at the end of our time together. Thank you, Bishop! :)
