As only God could have arranged it, on the feast day of my Baptismal patron (St. Thecla), Michael and I got our engagement blessed, our parents met for the first time, the reception hall was visited and booked, and we bought my wedding band! All in one day!
Earlier this month when we got engaged, Michael had asked our beloved parish priest, Father O'Blaney, for a blessing. However, Father eagerly suggested that we make a ceremony of it, bringing with us our respective parents and other family members. So, this we arranged for the end of the month.
Unfortunately, though, Father took an unexpected fall and is now recovering in the hospital. Please keep him in your prayers! Another wonderful priest, Father John (who we all know and love), did the blessing ceremony for us. Isn't it cute how you can see my grandmother looking at us in this photo?
