Our Tour of the Vatican Museum

Michael and I had so much fun touring the Vatican Museum!

The Holy Spirit arranged it that we would easily run into our new friends Tom and Brittany, just as we were entering.  How perfect!  They were so joyful to see us!

My eyes have never beheld such works of beauty as it did during our time in Roma.  All the beautiful churches...museums...ruins...it was truly amazing!

Here's a few pictures we snapped that day!

Vatican City has its own radio station!  Can you see the antenna tower in the background, behind the Vatican Gardens?

Here's the guys taking a break!  The museum was soooo huge that our legs needed rest!

This was the long Hallway of Maps!  Popes would walk down these corridors with visitors to tell them where in the world they were.  Michael and I decided to pose next to the map of Italy!

This huge painting was done by Rafael.  It contains famous mathematicians from history, such as Euclid, Plato, Aristotle, Pythagoras, and Archimedes!  Being a math teacher, I couldn't resist having my photo taken with them!

Look at this beautiful Marian desk!  I like to think of it as Mary's vanity, on loan from Heaven for use at the Vatican Museum.  Can you imagine the Blessed Mother getting ready at it?  The irony is, of course, that Our Lady is not vain!  If she adorns herself with anything, it is virtue!
