Christmas Reflections on 2012

Nothing says "'Tis the season!" like a cozy pair of new cotton jammies!

Last night before bed, I jumped into my new pajamas (thanks, Mom Goddard!) and laid on the couch in front of the Christmas tree, drinking a hot tea and nibbling on a cookie.

Together Michael and I opened one last remaining gift and took stock of all that we are thankful for.

He thanked me again for being a great mother to Liam, and I cried joyfully as I thanked him for being the husband, father, provider, and protector that he is.

We both marveled at the miracle that Liam is in our lives, and then we started dreaming about all the growth opportunities we hope to give him (in faith, golfing, piano, travel, etc.) and how--with God's help--we hope to mold him into the incredible man of virtue that he is called to be.

Then we spoke of our little family's plans for the next five years.  We went to bed, not with visions of sugar plums, but with dreams of a future whose surprises will be whatever God wills . :)
