Party at Our House

We hosted the 4th of July party this year, and it couldn't have been more fun.  How grateful I am to all the women of our family who brought food and worked along side one another in my itty-bitty kitchen.  And how grateful I am to the men of our family who moved our deck furniture out onto the lawn and grilled up burgers and dogs with palatable precision.

All this fuss was a celebration of more than just our nation's birth.  It was my mother's birthday!  Here's a few pictures of our time together...

And while responsible parents would have taken a sleeping babe as a cue to call it a night, patriotic parents go out and watch fireworks anyway.  :)

Just two blocks down and a blanket on the grass, and we were in fireworks heaven.
