In this gorgeous August weather, my friend Anne and I took our cherubs to the local park for an afternoon picnic, followed by a romp around the playground. Anne's little one, Katie, slept the afternoon away while Lily and Liam enjoyed the swings and slides.
Liam loved watching the other children play. And it is fascinating to watch him reach out and make friends. He communicated verbally (although with only joyous squeaks and sounds) when other children ran by him or stopped to wave hello. He watched with great interest another boy, slightly above his age, who was toddling around, a bit wobbly on his legs still, but certainly proud of his new-found accomplishments.
The park, my friends, is where it's at!
