I found at our local library a favorite book from my childhood called Harriet's Halloween Candy. As a little girl, I had completely memorized this story word-for-word, mimicking the intonations and page-turning sounds of the narrator on that orange plastic cassette tape, as best I could.
Even though it's now decades later, all I have to see is the cover of that book to bring back all the delightful memories...and the exact text of the story itself.
So I read it to Liam--without ever having to look at the words--and he loved it. My nerdy dream came true!
