My Little Slice of Heaven

Last weekend I had the most amazing encounter.

I was on my way to a pool party--wondering if I had remembered my sunblock and hoping that I wouldn't look ridiculous in a bikini--when suddenly in my periphery I caught a glimpse of what I would consider to be a little slice of Heaven.

I immediately pulled the car over and parked atop of the uneven terrain of a farmer's field.

There before me were thousands of white feathered friends, all clucking and gobbling with excited faces, their little eyes blinking in wonderment.

I walked right up to them and talked to them, and they listened and looked at me. I waved to the guys in the far back, their little necks stretched high with curiosity. I could have stood there forever and would have preferred to be in the middle of them. Now THAT would have been a stellar 30th birthday present: the chance to walk through a crowd of turkeys! Oh well, at least I got close! :-)
