Just kidding. I'm not.I'm not getting a tattoo because the ink dyes are not regulated by the FDA.
As a result, nobody prints the ingredients on the bottle. And if they're not on the bottle, what good is the sheet of paper on which they are listed? There are no legal ties to officially connect the two.
And new ink dyes (that provide vibrant colors and which don't migrate over time) contain plastic.
No longitudinal studies (done over the course of a lifetime) have been performed on the safety of these new ink dyes because they simply are too new.
And remember, if you choose to get laser treatment to have a tattoo removed, that ink must filter into your bloodstream and through your kidneys, a process which I have seen second-hand to be physically exhausting and grueling, not so much because of the pain but because of the unbalanced bloodstream you have for the weeks following the treatment.
I had always told myself that if I wanted the same exact tattoo in the same exact place for 3 consecutive years, I would get it. And I just hit that milestone today. But now that I am here, I think I'll keep my body pure and natural. But oh! How I sometimes dream of having two, colorful half-sleeves! Well...maybe I'll do it when I'm 40. :-)
