May and June are such special months in which to honor my parents!Mother's Day begins the celebration...then it's my parents' wedding anniversary on May 22nd...followed by Father's Day in June...then my father's birthday on June 24th...and then my mother's birthday on the 4th of July!

For Father's Day the other weekend, Dad and I spent time together at the track near my house and we threw his new javelin and shot put. I did a horrible job at throwing both, but at least it was fun! It was enjoyable spending that quality father-daughter time together, and it reminded me of old times past! :-)
For my mother's 4th of July birthday, my adorable 90-year-old grandmother baked a delicious strawberry shortcake...which we all promptly gobbled up!Somehow, when you put strawberries on top, eating cake doesn't seem so bad for ya! :-)
