Take, for example, the little red balloon icon in the lower right hand corner of my Facebook page. When I see it, my heart is instantly warmed. Someone has stepped in and commented on my life, and that just feels good, you know? Here's a screen shot. I'm sure you recognize it! Heck, we all do!
The other thing I love to see is something in my Facebook inbox. A single Facebook message is as exciting as about a dozen regular emails combined. Yes, it's true! Who cares if I've got 49 new messages in my regular email account; I've got 6 in my Facebook inbox, and I'm looking at those first!
And while MySpace is no longer the darling of social networking, what girl's heart wouldn't skip a beat when she logs in and is greeted by this kind of loveliness?
Gotta go...it's time to check my profile and see if I've got anything new. :-)
