Tonight my baby dove named Mild flew the coop.By this I mean that he left his parents and sister and began a new life of his own, now with my dear friend Shawn as his caregiver.
This special day has been a whole year in the making. We began awaiting this day last year, when I first adopted Pure & Innocent.
I had met Shawn last summer also, and one of the first things he asked me was if he could have one of the babies if Pure & Innocent were to ever have children. And so tonight that blessed day came!
Shawn met Mild a few weeks ago, when little Mild was nothing more but a little squirming pink thing that hid under his mother's feathers.
But, now that Mild is old enough to eat on his own and be away from his parents, Mild and Shawn were reunited permanently this evening!The lovely thing about giving a dove to a friend is that when Shawn comes over to visit, the family of 4 can once again be reunited!
