Gentlemen, when you a kiss a girl for the first time, you simply must observe the 90/10 Rule.It goes like this: You lean in 90 percent, and--if she's interested--she will lean in 10 percent. It's a beautiful transaction which lets both parties decide if kissing should commence.
Currently, I am a single girl with no prospects of any romance on the horizon. But the thought occurred to me this morning: What if I desire to kiss a man? How can I indicate to him that--if he should lean in 90 percent--I would assuredly make up for the remaining 10?
In the presence of a particular guy, who shall remain nameless, I decided to practice.
At various times during our conversation, I leaned my neck in approximately 18 degrees (which is 10 percent of 180 degrees, the amount of degrees in a straight line).
I had practiced this ahead of time in the mirror, so I knew what the 10 percent / 18 degree lean-in felt like. This would leave him with 162 degrees to do with as he willed.
Unfortunately, he didn't pick up on my cue at all. On my third try, I think he just thought I was swallowing my food strangely or something. On my fifth try, he repeated what he said, presumably because he interpreted my lean-in as a "Huh?"
From this, I conclude that the 10 percent lean-in is rendered meaningless unless the 9o percent lean-in precedes it. *sigh*
So how does a girl show a guy she wants to kiss him? Who knows!!
