First Daily Mass & 2 Beautiful Roses to Remember It By

The first week that I lived in this house was particularly sweet. (Specifically, the first daily Mass that I attended at St. James was particularly sweet!)

I didn't have the return to school on my mind yet, and so I was relaxed and got up every day to attend daily Mass.

I was just blissfully soaking in the experience of having the luxury of being able to simply walk across the street to attend Mass!

On the first day that I attended daily Mass since living in this home, a special thing happened.

At the conclusion of Mass, while I was saying a particularly poignant prayer to Jesus (offering to Him something deep from within my heart), the older woman that sat in front of me turned around and presented me with two miniature real roses. She simply said, "Have a great day!" and then joyfully walked off. What are the odds of something like this happening?

A friend of mine once told me that when roses are randomly presented to you or unexpectedly encountered in your travels, St. Therese the Little Flower is interceding on your behalf.

As I walked home, carrying the fresh roses, I could not help but see them as male and female. One was fragile and pink; the other was yellow, tall, and more sturdy. When I got home, I realized that the real miniature roses matched my large fake roses perfectly. And so, I placed them in a little jar which I put on my kitchen windowsill.

I think I shall dry and save these roses so that I always remember my first daily Mass at St. James. :-)
