And while I believe that the Brown Scapular of Our Lady is indeed the most powerful sacramental that we have, lately I can't get enough of St. Philomena's Cord. I try to give one to everyone I encounter.
The trouble is, of course, that I can't keep enough of it around.
As soon as I order a supply of it, off it goes, being carried away on the wrist of a new devotee.
On my Christmas wish list this year is a big wooden spool of red-and-white cord, which the Sundance Catalog is selling here.
It's awesome how St. Philomena is gently doing God's will by making her cord available, even among the pages of a secular catalog. :)
St. Philomena is the patroness of so many things, but chief among them is purity.
