We're the same way.
We take a shortcut and always enter through the side kitchen door. It's just easier that way, and it brings you more quickly into the room of choice -- the one that contains all the food, drinks, and snacks!
So, since our kitchen door is used so frequently, I recently gave an updated look to the Spring wreath that hangs on it.
I attached to the wreath little pieces of cloth that spell out "Welcome."
