Breastfeeding 101 Class

On Saturday morning, Jenna and I attended a two-hour breastfeeding class.

We gave our husbands free passes to skip out on the class to go grab breakfast at a diner and hit a few golf balls at the driving range.  They were soooo pleased with us!  Haha.

Upon entering the classroom, we were instructed to choose a precious baby doll from the collection of varied faces.

I couldn't believe how each doll had a different expression and a different facial structure.  Indeed, no two were alike!  Amazing!

We used the doll babies to learn various holding positions.  We also learned the benefits of breastfeeding as well as different techniques to get the baby to latch and nurse in a way that is comfortable for both mother and child.

When class dismissed, our husbands were the first to enter the room, all eager to hear how it went, yet also ready to crack jokes, making Jenna and I both grateful that we kept them away!

I showed Michael our little plastic baby child and was sure to take this portrait photo before departing.  :)
