Sophie La Girafe

This is Sophie.

Apparently, she's a big deal.

I was informed by some all-natural organic hippy mammas that I know.

She comes from the Haute-Savoie region of France, and American mammas (especially celebrities) have been clamoring to get them for their babies ever since she recently caught on here.

She's perfect for teething because she's made of all-natural rubber derived from the sap of the Hevea tree.  And her speckles are hand-painted with organic vegetable dyes.

The little French toy company called Vulli has been making Sophie exactly the same since her debut on Saint Sophia's feast day (May 25th) in 1961.  Each giraffe comes with a unique serial number printed on her leg.

She's an expensive little bugger, but Michael wanted our child to have a Sophie.  So it was the first toy that he ever bought our child once we found out we were pregnant.  :)

Here's a neat little video that shows the production of Sophia La Girafe!
