A Gradual Start to the Day

This is how my son starts his day.

He looks out his favorite window in the living room.

He savors the trees.

He watches the cars go by.

He takes it all in, his eyes wide with wonder and awe.

He'll excitedly wiggle his little legs and arms constantly.

He teaches me to slow down and notice things.

But it's more than just noticing; it's appreciating.

And those trees in the front yard have never been more appreciated than they are now.

This sweet, precious, attentive little boy is teaching me so much.

Meanwhile, I get my breakfast.  I've got a good 30 minutes before I'm needed again.  :)
