It was a good weekend. It was full of communication and clarity and compromise. It was about making adjustments so that needs are met and things stay balanced. It was long hugs, cozy family time on the couch, easy leftovers, and a fantastic movie that made me cry my eyes out. It was finally checking some things off our list, including laundry and grocery shopping. It was keeping each other company in the kitchen while our baby slept and the dishes got washed. And it was lazy afternoon family naps that lasted 2 to 3 hours because...well...we had time to take them. Oh, and did I say that staying in pajamas was mandatory? It was. For all three of us.
Our weekends have become different now. We're not hosting dinner parties. We're not traveling. We're not scrambling to make it someplace in just-the-nick-of-time. We're not packing up to go somewhere. We're just staying put. We're being us. Us in pajamas. And that's it. And it was grrrreat.
Hope your weekend was just as refreshing.
