Liam's First Major Leage Baseball Game

On Sunday, we took Liam to his first big-league baseball game.  It was his first time seeing his Daddy's beloved Boston Red Sox.  All three of us dressed up in red, white, and blue.

And we drove down to Baltimore, just to sit among these crazy bird fans:

And while I might be looking a bit goofy (pointing proudly to the Boston logo on my t-shirt), notice how Liam already has his tough-guy game face on.  That's right, Orioles.  Be afraid.  Be very afraid.

These Orioles fans are not only Michael's valued colleagues but they are our dear friends.  It was so wonderful spending a July afternoon with them in the ballpark, enjoying hot dogs and frozen lemonades and team rivalry banter.

Wagering is fun, too, especially when I convince Manny that he ought not to bet a workday lunch on the winning team; rather, he should bet a whole dinner out with us wives included.  (Hello, weekend double-date!)

Liam did great in the sweltering heat.  He drank ice cold beverages like the rest of us (although he opted for water), and he didn't complain one bit about having to sit for 2.5 hours.  He watched the game with an interest and passion equal to how he viewed the empty water bottles that rolled around near the teenagers' feet that were just behind my shoulders.

And guess what!  The Boston Red Sox won!  This means that, of the two baseball games we've taken Liam to (one being local and the other being national), our team has always won!  Liam is two-for-two and clearly bringing our teams good luck.  :)  And we are really looking forward to that double-date out with Manny and Rachel! Yeah!!

What an awesome, awesome afternoon.  I found myself feeling quite sad when it was time to head home!

In this photo, do you see three Boston Red Sox fans with the potential for a fourth?  Wally the green monster is working on Manny already.  :)
And yes, dear readers, I have started accepting product placement sponsorship.  This is why I'm posing so excitedly with the Minute Maid frozen lemonade container.  :)
