Why Doesn't He Ever Apologize???

Nobody's perfect. Everyone in his viewing area knows it.

We accept him unconditionally, just as he is, boring suit and all. We do so because we have loyalty, and we start our day with him every day.

So why can't he at least give us the dignity of an apology when he's made a significant mistake?

We know that nobody can predict the future for certain. We don't expect prophecy. We just expect respect.

Even an insincere apology would do. It'd be like a confession with imperfect contrition, his mind focused not on how he hurt his viewers but instead on the real possibility that we might tune in elsewhere. But it would still be an apology that we would appreciate.

To avoid the apologies, he swirls around all the possibilities for us now, explaining ahead of time that the snowfall could be anywhere from nothing to 8 inches, and that it's only probable that we should experience some light rain mixed in with the possibility of warm sunshine and a few occasional hail balls. All this, of course, would happen with a wintry mixed bag of ice, slush, and, well, a warm front might even come in and give us some unseasonably warm, balmy weather.

He widely covers his bases...and thus adequately covers his posterior. I have never once heard a meteorologist apologize, but if I ever do, he shall have my respect!
