Their Love Runth Over!

Pure and Innocent sure do love each other!

They are always cuddling, snuggling, getting cozy, and loving one another.

And yesterday their love once again overflowed.

That is the beautiful way of it, you see. When a couple's love becomes so great, it actually becomes impossible to contain within just two beings -- and a third one is created! Or, in this case, a third and fourth one. :-)

Yes, yesterday the pair of white eggs (#16 and #17) that Mom and Dad had been dutifully keeping warm, finally hatched and brought two beautiful baby doves into the world!

I cried when I saw their precious little pink bodies for the first time. I cried because I wished that Little Gentle Junior could have been alive to meet his new siblings.

I drove home from graduate class in haste for this moment of finally meeting them, and I was pretty confident that yesterday was going to be their hatch day, since the eggs were wiggling and had crack marks on them when I left for school in the morning.

Keeping with the gentle adjective theme that started with Pure & Innocent, I decided to name them Meek & Mild. Of course, I do not know their genders yet. Unlike Little Junior, these little babies made little high-pitched squeaks.

Mother and Father are doing a great job caring for their children, and frequently I find them both sitting together in the nest! Let us pray that these babies live longer than the 12 days in which we were graced with Little Junior's presence.
