Last week I submitted a word and definition to UrbanDictionary.com (the go-to place for up-to-date slang).
Today I got an email that they accepted my word, definition, and example sentence -- verbatim! And within a few hours after that, it was published.
Here it is!
While most definitions for the word "push" have to do with illegal drugs or illicit sex, my definition is quite lovely, useful, and timely, wouldn't you say? :-)
Now I will admit that I didn't create this word. Perhaps I just helped resurrect it or elevate it, if you will, to a better meaning.
Last week, I stumbled across the word a million times when I was shopping for iPhone apps. I sorta figured what it meant, but I wanted to be certain. So I went to UrbanDictionary.com, as I always do for that sort of thing.
But this time, the site did NOT deliver. There was no relevant definition!
So, when I was on Twitter, I saw an add for the Boxcar app. They used the word "push" again. And so I figured if the big-name giants of Apple, Twitter, and Boxcar all use the word, shouldn't someone define it?
And so I did.
There! I made my little mark on the world. There's now proof that I've lived and helped advance our society, even if just by a teensy-weensy bit.
I can die happily now. :-)
